As part of the anniversary celebrations, the Archdiocese of New York has planned a year-long series of events, including masses, processions, and concerts. In addition, a new book, "The Cathedral: A History of St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York City," has been published to mark the occasion.

St. Patrick's Cathedral, located on a city block bounded by Fifth Avenue and Madison Avenue, is the seat of the Archbishop of New York and a parish church.
